Is excess oil getting you down? While ‘dewy’ skin may be the latest craze, having oily skin can be a struggle, as it often results in blemishes and other skin concerns.
The good news is, there are several ways to treat oily skin, and we’ve shared a handful of our top tips below!
1. Always have blotting paper at the ready
The modern-day saviour for oily skin types, these handy little sheets are easy to pop into your handbag and blot away any excess oil (particularly in the T-Zone region) throughout the day!
2. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen
Spending more time in the sun can dehydrate the skin and damage the external barrier protecting your face. Applying an oil-free sun cream is a must for oily skin, as it helps prevent the ‘bad stuff’ from sinking into your pores by protecting the skin from UV rays.
3. Wash your makeup brushes
Have you ever looked at your makeup brushes and realised it’s been a LIFETIME since you gave them a good clean? Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
We can’t STRESS the importance of washing your brushes at least once a week to stop old bacteria from spreading and clogging up the face.
4. Don’t exfoliate too regularly
We’re constantly told that using a good face scrub is key, but did you know that scrubbing the skin too frequently can increase natural oil production? Try popping our Exfoliating Scrub Mask on once a week to make the most of its 2-in-1 benefits!
5. You STILL need to moisturise
Despite the rumours, oily skin still needs to be moisturised. You just have to choose the right one for your skin type.
An oil-free moisturiser is a must for oily skin types.
6. A weekly face mask is KEY
